This model is designed to meet the varying requirement
of the Emergency Medical services and Hospital Personnel who may be called
upon to resuscitate a wide range of patient sizes from children (over 20
kg body weight) to adults. All controls are located on the front of the resuscitator facing the operator including the manual button. This allows for both hands to remain on the face mask facilitating a superior mask-to-face seal during ventilation. |

The tidal volume and frequency can be simultaneously adjusted by one
setting selector to suite the average patient's lung capacity and normal
respiratory rates. This model is equipped with a manual button which
functions independently of the automatic cycling circuit to enable the
operator to control the rate and volume of ventilation. The manual flow
rate is fixed at 40 lpm in line with the American Heart Association
"Recommendations and Guidelines for Resuscitation". Spontaneously breathing patients, whose respirations are adequate, will cause the "Automatic Shut Off Circuit" to inhibit automatic ventilation. This allows the patient to breath, "on demand", at his/her own rate and volume. If the patient's respirations become inadequate, or completely cease, the automatic cycling will restart without any intervention from the rescuer.
